Flock Wallpaper is a digital, interactive response to traditional interior pattern and design. Traditional wallpaper patterns are re-imagined as a colony of creatures: butterflies, birds, insects. Each individual creature is patterned with a section of the whole texture. The collection of creatures therefore combine to make up the entire pattern. Movement of passers-by in front of the design disturbs the pattern as some of the creatures are given impetus to fly away. Increased movement encourages greater activity amongst the insects. The creatures eventually come back to rest, and re-form the original design. The traditional static design becomes a hive of potential activity adding a new dimension to the original design.
